The winners of the LSA Annual Awards are announced and presented at the Winter AGM. They are entered into the running for their category in the US Youth Soccer Region III Annual Awards. The Regional winners are presented at the US Youth Soccer Annual Awards Gala and one of them is chosen as the national winner. The 2011 Awards will be presented in Louisville, KY in February 2011 during the US Youth Soccer Coaches Workshop.

SUMMER AGM

The LSA Summer AGM was held July 17 and 18, 2010 at the Crowne Plaza New Orleans Airport.

Elections
During the general meeting elections for Treasurer and Secretary were held. Both Gene Cambus and Julie Cambus will continue in their current offices. They Adult Council elected Jeremy Poklemba as the new Vice President for Adults and the Youth Council elected Charlie Freel as the new Vice President for Youth. Phil Roberts was appointed to fill the vacancy left by Chip Duncan. D1/Rec Commissioner.

Both Joe Perret, VP Youth and Danilo Turcios, VP Adults are stepping down after many years of service to LSA. Thank you Joe and Danilo for all you have done for LSA!

Adult Fees have been reduced. The primary registration fee will now be $25 per player and the secondary will be $15.

The following clubs were accepted into membership:
West Ouachita Youth Sports Association, West Monroe
Sulphur Soccer Club, Sulphur

The following club was granted provisional membership:
River Parish Soccer Club

The following policy changes have been passed.

Article XI - Succession of Officers -
If an Adult Commissioner resigns the Vice President of Adults with the approval of the Executive Committee, shall appoint a replacement until a election can be held for the remainder of the term at the next duly call meeting of the Adult Council.
Likewise, should an Youth Commissioner (Premier or D1/Rec) resign the Vice President of Youth, with the approval of the Executive Committee shall appoint a replacement until a election can be held for the remainder of the term at the next duly call meeting of the Youth Council.

Youth - 311-1 3. Tournament Format - For the D1 State Tournament the policy was changed to the following: Teams from the same association/club may be placed in competition with each other in order to have a true blind draw.

Following the meeting the Tournament Scheduling Meeting for 2010-2011 was held to finish the scheduling for the spring. Please keep in mind that April 24 is Easter and May 8 is Mother's Day. State Cup dates are as follows:

ODP CAMP HONORS

Louisiana ODP continues to improve and this year we had a great showing at the Region III Camp. Congratulations to the 94 Boys who were the Finalist in the 2010 Region III ODP Championships (only loss was to Florida 1- 0) and also to the 97 Girls who went undeafeated in camp playing at the highest bracket.

This year Louisiana had fourteen (14) players selected for Region III Pools and Honors.

MURPHY FAMILY

SUPPORT FUND SET UP TO ASSIST LOCAL MURPHY FAMILY

LAFAYETTE— In an effort to help a Lafayette family defray medical and travel costs in a tragic time of need, a support fund has been set up at Home Bank in Lafayette. 

Several members of the Murphy family were involved in a fatal incident while visiting South Africa for the World Cup.  St. Thomas Moore Alumna, Nicole Murphy, daughter of Dr. Danny and Charlene Murphy, was struck and killed by a car.  Murphy’s brother, Brian, was also critically injured in the incident.
